ITShootOut, ByteSizedReviews, OcPrices and PriceBomb historyOcPrices was started back in the year 2000 as a price guide for overclocking equipment, showing readers the best buys for hardware around.
Shortly after the site opened it quickly expanded and grew to include first class reviews of the latest PC hardware and overclocking equipment. From cases to cooling equipment, video cards to processors, you’ll find some of the newest gear being reviewed here regularly by the OcPrices Team.
2002 included the introduction of game reviews on the scene, and a major overhaul of the web site design and look. In that process the hugely popular price engine has actually become a great new separate site called PriceBomb UK, leading the way for OcPrices to become a dedicated and highly successful review site.
In April 2006, OcPrices.com was re-launched as ByteSizedReviews
in an effort to distance ourselves from price matching and the plethora of price searching websites that phish hits from genuine review sites. The ethos of the
site has also changed somewhat, with the focus now on concise, to-the-point
reviews that can be read in minutes rather than taking up your whole lunch hour.
After a break of over three years, we decided it was time to relaunch the site in 2010 - now as ITShootOut.com. We feel this name better matches what we do - and is much easier to say and spell out than ByteSizedReviews (or OcPrices for that matter :-)).
We will stick to the same formula: our reviews will be relatively short and to the point - but will contain enough information to be able to decide whether this is worth getting or not.
