Introduction
Most of the time when popular movies come out you usually get a load of crappy merchandise along with it. Sometimes (but less often than in the first case) you do get stuff that isn’t that bad, and you put on a brave face to your mates and the world whilst trying to tell yourself it was worth the money after all. And on rare occasions you get a classic game from it.
Star Wars games tend to fair pretty well for the most parts, compared to its closest rival, Star Trek, and all its related spin-off merchandise. Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, however, lets the side down in a big way. It isn’t 'terrible', and fits probably in my second description above, but it is a obvious money making gimmick which shows extreme laziness on the programming front at many turns.

Compatibility

Perhaps the best thing about Star Was: Galactic Battlegrounds is its specifications, being extremely accessible to those who don’t have super fast computers brimming with all the latest hardware.
For those with higher specs, who are snobby when it comes to games and often say things like “I’m not touching that filth because it doesn’t have 3D graphics” then you will be dissatisfied, not too surprisingly.
Resolutions at my setup
It will run well, and the 2D artwork is nice enough I guess, but it’s hardly going to leave you dribbling on the keyboard with excitement (although which part of your body the ‘dribble’ comes from is your own personal preference, depending on how sad you are). But then those gaming snobs who prefer modern 3D visuals over ‘old school’ 2D visuals (like my self) should consol yourself with the fact that at least this game can run very well on your system.
* Note:- You can (and often will) get slow down though, and curiously it is in exactly the same area that Age of Empires 2 had. If you have a large map, with (generally) more than 4 computer players then things start to slow up once the battle has transpired for a bit. Shame really, especially when you look at the low recommended specs.
