Introduction
Often in my reviews I end up focussing in on the bad points more than the good, perhaps opening the possibility to readers that I am indecisive, especially when I moan for ages only to give something a highly acceptable rating at the end.
However, I believe that focussing more on bad points, rather than dwelling on the good is exactly the right way of reviewing a game. Any player can tell at a glance what makes a game great, but it takes extended periods of playing to actually notice a games flaws and blemishes that could turn you off the title, by which point it’s too late if you have gone and purchased the game. After all, isn’t it better to buy a game and be surprised at how great actually is, rather than be surprised at how poor it is?
The Thing™ is one of those games that has forced me, yet again, to focus on the bad side of the game, despite actually being rather entertaining. Why? Well, continue to read and find out…

Compatibility

On first appearances, The Thing™ looks incredibly PC user friendly. Compare these specifications to other more recent titles, and you will be surprised.
I have not tested on any machines near the recommended settings, so I honestly can’t say whether or not the game will work, although my gut feeling tells me that PC’s near the recommended specification will have features turned right down and will run poorly. If your system however is near mine, then you have no worries, as I have absolutely no slow down whatsoever.
Resolutions tested

Unfortunately, for some reason, The Thing™ refuses to run on anything above 1028x768. Shame, because with my new PC setup I like to push games to the max to make me feel good.
