Introduction
Although being a fan of Star Trek it must be noted that I don’t particularly trust the franchise when it comes to games. More often than not you look forward to a game months in advance only for it to be extremely low quality and an obvious money making gimmick. It just seemed that any game with "Star Trek" in the title would turn out to be awful, or have some huge flaws that ruined the experience.
Additionally I am not a fan of the Starfleet Command games, thinking them to be slow, boring and boasting poor visuals. So why on earth did I go out and buy the third instalment without even hesitating? Seems a bit odd doesn’t it. Well it is.
So what did I think about it? Another get-rich-quick schemes, or a classic (but sadly overlooked by the general gaming community) Star Trek game to be proud off?

This game is quite demanding it must be said. You only have to peer at the graphics on the back of the box to figure out that if you have the minimum specs the game will run like a sloth.
The only slowdown I have ever got was once in an unusually massive battle. Apart from that I have no slowdown, and my graphics settings pumped up to max. So anyone near my settings will probably not have problems either.
There are a few issues for people who have installed BETA version of DirectX, such as DirectX 9. So much so that Activision has released a patch to compensate for this.
I suggest (as always before buying a game that has been out a while) to check out the technical support in advance to see if you might have any issues
