Introduction
People who know me personally accept that I am a bit of a nerd, I certainly won’t deny it! I've loved strategy games ever since I played Risk and Chess when I was ten. Recently, I’ve also become interested in the history of World War 2, which probably explains why I have brought games like Battlefield 1942 and Medal of Honor.
I’m also the kind of guy that if you ask “Should we invade Iraq?” then you should expect a long debate and rightwing discussion on the issue. Lefties would, as a result, classify me as an ‘armchair general’ which is probably not far wrong.
Hearts of Iron therefore is the perfect combination of all three of these aspects of my personality, as it’s a strategy game set in WW2 where you choose to play as any nation in the world, with world conquest being the primary goal. How could this game possibly fail?

Resolutions tested
The low specs of the game will hint at the style of the game immediately. This hasn’t got ‘in your face’ graphics, and is not the cutting edge of gaming technology. Most PC gamers will not have trouble running Hearts of Iron, unless you really are behind on a much needed upgrade.
