Introduction
Star Trek fans are only too aware that great games based on this popular Sci-fi series are a rare commodity. Trek games seem to suffer from a curse of being incredibly average, almost like the famous Star Trek film curse where only the even number films seem to do well and the odd numbered ones do badly.
Even games that have great potential often flop in key areas. Games like Armada, Birth of the Federation, DS9: The Fallen, Bridge Commander and Klingon Academy had huge potential, but where let down by key issues. Armada for instance was great fun with superb visuals, but the story was dire and the concept of Starships behaving like C&C units a little odd to say the least. DS9: The Fallen had an ok story and nice visuals, but was let down by being too short and having nothing else to do once the single player story was over.
The original Elite Force also suffered from this curse. Although being good fun the game was incredibly short, multiplayer just wasn’t gripping, and the game felt more like Quake Arena than set in the Star Trek Universe. Has Elite Force 2 therefore reinforced its strengths, and sorted out the weaknesses? Let’s find out.

Resolutions tested
In terms of system specifications Elite Force 2 showed no problems on my system at all. I played through the entire game on 1280 x 1024, something I don’t/can’t usually do without expecting slow down. Cool.
