Introduction
Ever since it’s release in 2001, the GameCube has been a source of some great games like Eternal Darkness, Super Mario Sunshine, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, and of course one of my personal favorites, Metroid Prime. With its low price and impressive library, it goes without me saying that the GameCube has definitely become the choice for those who want a great system without paying a terrible price.
The only problem the GameCube seems to have is that there has been a shortage of RPG’s on the system. It is kind of disheartening to know that you can count the amount of games made in this particular genre for this system on a single hand. It is in fact one of the few reasons that many people still have not bought a GameCube despite all of the other great titles that this little system has produced. It seems now however, that many game companies have seen this and now they are trying to expand the GameCube library to include more of the RPG’s that fans of the genre have been waiting for.
One such company is Namco, whose games like Soul Caliber 2, Ridge Racer and of course Pac-Man has given them a reputation as being one of the best third-party developers ever. In continuing that trend they have just recently released Tales of Symphonia, the newest chapter in the long running ‘Tales of’ series that will now give RPG fans a reason to look at the GameCube in a different light.
