Introduction
I dug very deeply into my pockets last week and generously took my girlfriend to the cinema to watch Star Wars III : Revenge of the Sith. The Colonel fed us fried chicken before we went in and so we didn’t bother with popcorn, which was a shame because when that man whooped at the opening credits I could of done with a soft, cola soaked snack to pelt him with.
Luckily, and quite surprisingly, we both thoroughly enjoyed the film and spent the rest of the evening making silly light saber noises and humming the Darth Vader anthem. So I ordered myself the new game which came out just before the film and was uniquely titled ‘Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith’. A couple of days later my game arrived and I began playing.
It wasn’t without hesitation that I ordered the game. Lucasarts are the publishers entrusted with the Star Wars License (Not surprisingly, being as they are owned by the big man George!) and I have developed a love/hate relationship with them throughout the years. It’s a complete mystery what any of their games will turn out like because they often choose to use different developers for different games and so it’s a mixed bag of good and evil that is eventually sifted through to the public.
Being as Star Wars is so big, anything Star Wars will sell. If somebody started merchandising Star Wars slug pellets – they would sell. So anything with the Star Wars tag needs to be treated with caution, especially in the games world. What does this mean for Revenge of the Sith? Well, we shall see, Galvatron, we shall see…
