Introduction
Battlefield 1942 graced our monitors back three years ago and in the first instance to me it doesn’t seem that long a time. Obviously when I think about it I remember all the other cool FPS titles since then, such as Fry Cry and Unreal Tournament 2004. So why is it then that B1942 really sticks out in my mind above all else?
I think it’s because for me, and many others, B1942 was the first true Multiplayer FPS that really worked. Sure other games before with the same premise had vehicle combat, capturing flags on a map etc. but for none worked as well as B1942.
Since then there hasn’t been another truly stunning multiplayer FPS game out there. With such a tough act to follow, can any game knock it off my personal top spot? Step in Battlefield 2…
Compatibility
Battlefield 2 is a beast, and only those players with the top of the range systems will likely be able to play on all the maximum settings without seriously compromising frame rates. My system excels in a few areas, but lacks in others, so I can play on Medium settings at 1024x768 with only a few instances of low frame rates occurring.
