The sheets provided for installation include three pages, and cover just about everything you need to know to be able to hook up your fans and get running. There are even instructions for assembling the unit, including the drilling of the faceplate, mounting of the LEDs, etc. which comes in handy should you need to match your case finish perfectly. Thereâs also a handy troubleshooting section at the end in case things arenât working according to plan.
The unit comes attached to a very attractive aluminum âUâ type housing. My particular model was black, but a silver version is also available.
The knobs have a very small notch (which came out well on the left most knob in the picture) to indicate the position of the rheostat. The knob spins freely except for a slight catch to indicate the middle setting, and comes to a hard stop when turned to the lowest setting (counter-clockwise) or the highest setting (clockwise).
My particular model includes multicolor LEDs that indicate that power is being supplied to your device. The LEDs only illuminate if the circuit is completed on that particular rheostat, so if you do not use one of the rheostats, or haven't wired your fan correctly, the LED will not light up. When the rheostats are on a low power position, the LEDs will shine red, and when switched to high, the LEDs are blue. The change occurs around 7V.
