The chipset waterblock is mounted by pushing the screws through the motherboard holes (the traces are protected by a supplied plastic washer). Next up, you slot over the waterblock making sure adequate thermal paste has been applied. Over the top of this, slide on the springs. These will stop you from over-tightening the nuts and cracking your board. Our test rig is an Abit NF7-S motherboard (review here) and as you can see from the pic below, it all fits peachy.
The graphics card cooler is mounted in much the same way. Simply remove the existing cooler first, remove any remaining thermal pad with isopropyl alcohol. Next apply some thermal paste and screw on the waterblock in the same manner as the Northbridge cooler. This time, our lab rat is a Radeon 9700 Pro.
If the rest of your PC is already cooled by the excellent Waterchill water cooling unit, you will have to think about the order in which you place the different components in the circuit. Ideally, you should put the unit with the highest heat output first in the circuit, allowing it to benefit the most from the cooler water coming from the radiator / pump unit. I decided to place them in the following order: Pump - CPU block - VGA block - Northbridge block - radiator - reservoir - pump and so on. This in my eyes is the most effective way to do it and I think it would be useful if Asetek made this slightly clearer in the provided instructions.
