Impressions, conclusion

Impressions, conclusion

So how well does the Steelpad 4D actually work? While I haven’t used every plastic pad out there, the Steelpad 4D ranks with the best of the major league players. Since I use an Icemat as my daily pad, I prefer the slick side of the 4D, though some will prefer the rougher side, and it’s nice to have that option.

After using the 4D for a few weeks, I have come to the conclusion that it is overall an excellent pad. I liked that it stayed anchored to the desk, unlike a lot of pads which start slipping after a week or two of heavy use. Is it good enough to make me give up my Icemat? Well…no, but the Icemat costs twice as much. At around $20 online, the Steelpad 4D is on the expensive side of the spectrum for plastic pads, but its unique features and slick surface make it worth a try. Recommended.
