In no doubt, Asus is one of the most trusted and reliable hardware manufacturer in the world. Time in time again, we see solid motherboards and graphic cards that have an amazing overclocking ability. Today, we will be looking at Asus' Extreme AX800XT Platinum, based on ATi's PCI-Express X800XTPE core - certainly the best choice until the x850's arrive in quantities (however, even the availability of X800XTPE's are questionable at this time).
Many companies just buy the reference x800 cards in large quantities and bundle them. However, Asus has designed a custom PCB in this case. We will explore later whether this yields extra overclocking potential or features.
This is certainly the biggest box for a graphics card I have ever seen. Not only does this provide free advertising in-store, but the customer will have a great satisfaction in carrying their big bulky box back home. :) On a serious note, however, why such a large box?
