The bundle of goodies you get with the SLI-DR motherboard is exceptional, and is without peer in this group. In the first sub-box inside the main motherboard package you will find two ATA-133 rounded IDE cables and a floppy cable, both of which are of excellent quality. Its nice to see a motherboard manufacturer realise that many of us do actually want two ATA133 cables rather than only one.
In the second box you get what DFI call their PC Transpo, basically a set of straps that allow you to easily transport a midi tower PC to a LAN party with no more difficulty than a regular suit case. This is a really nice touch and an extremely useful extra for those customers who actually plan on frequenting LAN Parties.
Move onto another sub box within the package and you find the Front X panel, a modular 5.25” drive bay unit that allows you to bring various connectivity and diagnostic options to a useful front-of-case location. Modules included with the panel include SATA ports, an optical SPDIF audio connector and a set of four diagnostic LEDs that work like a post reporter. The first LED represents that the VGA card has been successfully tested, two LEDs mean the memory has been detected, three means the CPU is functioning properly and all four means the system has started successfully.
Within the final box that also holds the motherboard, you will find four SATA cables, two dual-headed SATA power converter cables, the SLI bridge, an I/O shield, various instruction manuals and stickers, some thermal paste, the driver disks (including the all-important RAID floppy disk).
Finally, separately packaged within the box you will find a cable sleeving kit and the Karajan audio module. All in all the bundle of the DFI board is the most comprehensive we have seen in any motherboard yet reviewed, and is simply full of nice touches that the target audience will delight in.
