Ah the fun part, installing all drivers and/or demos. Installing the F-16 Combat Flight Stick was literally less than a twenty-second job. Insert the CD that came with your F-16 Combat Stick, when the window pops up click on the setup icon, and then follow on screen instructions. Installing the Pro Throttle can be a little confusing. Pop in the disk that came along with your product. You will have to go to My Computer and execute the setup manually. This will then install an installer. This seems a little ridiculous. After the installer is installed to your computer you simply go to Start menu then to Programs and then finally CH Products Installation CD. This will bring you up to an installation menu: Install Drivers, Direct X 8, Demos, and even has a Technical Support option. What we want to do is go directly to installing the drivers. Before you do this it is important that you unplug any CH Product USB devices. It gets a little odd here. You aren’t really installing the drivers for your Pro Throttle, what you are doing is installing the CH Products Control Manager which will help you calibrate and set up your CH products. Click on the link that simply says Control Manager in the upper left hand corner. It is important that you must follow the instructions precisely, otherwise you’ll end up uninstalling all CH Products’ drivers and start all over again. Again, keep the CH Products USB devices unplugged and continue with the installation. Once you are done you may now connect your Combat Stick and Pro Throttle. On to the control manager!
Control Manager
Calibrating and Setting up your controllers are not hard at all. Go to your control manager by simply clicking on Start menu>Program Files>CH Products>Control Manager.
Now on to setting up your controllers, so that the Combat Stick and Pro Throttle can work together. This is fairly simple. Click the Control Wizard by clicking on the icon that looks like a lightning bolt and select “6-Axis, 32-Button”
This will allow the Combat Stick and Pro Throttle to work as one joystick. What you want to do now is add 2 devices (Combat Stick and Pro Throttle), you can do this by clicking on the icon that looks like a joystick with a green ‘+’ sign next to it. Add your Combat Stick and Pro Throttle accordingly:
Now it is time to calibrate which could not be any easier. Click the icon that looks like a joystick with a green square behind it and follow the on screen instructions. Save this map and call it something like controller.map
And finally activate the map by clicking the necessary icon. Now enjoy playing your flight simulators, space fighters, and submarine ships at ease.
