P6X58D-E Performance
Performance
In order to test performance of the P6X58D-E we compared it against the P6T, the board this new model is designed to ultimately replace. We also compared it against the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R which represents the board’s strongest competition. Our processor of choice was a Core i7 920 whilst we used an Asus 5870 1GB video card.

The board has performance exactly in line with the results we’d expect from a top class X58 product, matching both the Gigabyte and the P6T for pace. Where the P6X58D-E really stretches its legs is in its overclocking capabilities. We are also happy to report no memory compatibility issues, with the board correctly setting the SPD timings for our Crucial, Corsair and G.Skill parts and running them with full stability. The board also passed our 24 hour torture test, running Prime 95's SmallFFT test and Orthos in Blend mode at 100% whilst looping 3DMark Vantage.
