OcPrices: Belkin Nostromo n45 GamePad Review

Introduction
The guys at Belkin were kind enough to let me review one of their game pads, specifically, the Nostromo n45 [USB] series. My first impression was, “Hey, I think my hands are too big for this pad.” I was suddenly proved wrong. This pad was really comfy, I actually couldn’t let go of it for a while, especially feeling the soft rubber on the analog joysticks. I must have spent maybe fifteen minutes staring and playing with the buttons idiotically. If it weren’t for my cat’s very sharp claws, digging deeply into my skin, I may not been able to break free from this hypnotic trance. I was looking at CH Product’s game pad from their website. I need to actually review CH Product’s game pad to give you an in-depth comparison. Unfortunately, I do not have one to review…yet. The Nostromo n45 game pad retail is priced at $24.00 USD where as CH Product’s game pad retail is priced at $21.99 USD.

Features

· Revolutionary Action Stabilizer Bar (ASB) for more balanced play.

· Mouse-mode button that lets the n45 function navigate Windows

· Thirteen action buttons

· Dual analog controllers

· Four realistic trigger buttons

· ENTER and ESC buttons

· Smooth and accurate eight-way directional pad

· Up to 70 programmable functions

· Compatible with Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP and Apple Mac OS 9 or later.

Belkin does state that there are 13 action buttons, if you include the 8-way D-Pad there are 21. I include the 8-way D-pad because I used the POV hat switch as 8 different buttons.
