Restore Favourites bar and status bar in IE9
Restore Favourites bar and status bar in Internet Explorer 9
So you just upgraded (willingly or unwillingly) to Microsoft’s latest browser, but all of the favourites you are used to having in the area above the tabs in IE8 have gone. We are all for streamlining the interface, but for many users IE9 feels a little bit too minimalistic. The handy status bar is also gone, as is the separate search box. The latter isn’t actually a problem as Microsoft has taken a leaf out of Google Chrome’s book by combining the two. If you want to go to a link, type in the web link and it will take you to it. If you just want to search for something, enter your phrase as a separate sentence.

How To Restore the Favourites Bar
Restoring the favourites bar couldn’t be easier. Simply right click on the blank space next to the “open new tab” box and tick favourites bar.

How To Restore the Status Bar
Restoring the status bar is done in exactly the same way – right click on the blank space next to the “open new tab” box and tick “status bar”.
You can also use the same method to reintroduce the menu bar, the IE8 style command bar and any third party tool bars you may have downloaded like the Google or MSN bars. Happy Browsing!
