Introduction
Introducing the Zalman CNPS 6000 Series
The original Zalman 'flower' coolers were one of my first review subjects, and I still think they are innovative and impressive at what they do. However the stakes have upped a little since my original look, and the CNPS 3000 series no longer cuts the mustard compared to the likes of the Goliath and Silverado coolers. Fortunately Zalman have not been resting on their laurels. Their new CNPS 6000 series are bigger, better and just as beautiful. Today I will be looking at the All-copper CNPS6000-Cu and the Copper/Aluminium mixture CNPS6000-AlCu.

Like I said before, the Zalmans are as gorgeous looking as ever. It's quite difficult to see from this picture, but the new coolers are much larger than their older cousins, with even more much-needed surface area.

The aluminium and copper CNPS6000 AlCu is identical in configuration to the 6000 Cu model, but is mainly aluminium to save on cost. If your motherboard has weak socket clips, bear in mind that the aluminium model weight MUCH less than its copper brother.

Both coolers come in the same quite large (for a cooler) box, which contains the heat sink, the Zalman fan, mounting screws, a fan mate 1 (fan RPM adjuster), an instruction manual, and installation tool and some high quality thermal compound (aren’t these guys helpful?). The whole package just oozes quality.

The base of the Zalman CNPS 6000 is extremely flat, and makes excellent contact with the CPU.
The Zalman CNPS6000 Cu costs around $45, with the CNPS6000 AlCu costing around ten bucks less. Lets see how these coolers perform!
