Assembly of the system was exceptionally fast. The system is well engineered and the parts all fit together like a glove. I was impressed by the make of the radiator and how care was taken to cap the ends and box the unit.
Pump: The Eheim 1046 is a very good pump with a well known name in watercooling. The pump uses a magnetic impeller and displaces 79gph. While this is a bit low, it performs just fine as you will soon see. All the necessary fittings as well as an alternative fitting is provided. The base of the pump is detachable and allows the pump to be mounted to either side, or with the output facing top. This is an extra handy feature for those who will wish to customize and minimize the room their watercooler takes up.
Reservoir: The Innovatek reservoir is custom built for this system and works flawlessly. I admit to being a bit hesitant when I saw that the interface between the reservoir and pump was a simple hole in the side of the reservoir with two o-rings to prevent leaks. I felt that a night of testing would prove the tolerances. The fit was perfect and a night of testing showed no leaks from this location.
Radiator: The mono radiator is made by MaxX Expert. It’s a perfect choice for this system and consists of copper tubing with aluminium fins. Included is a 120 mm fan and a 4 to 2 pin connector to use with the fan.
Waterblock: This is the heart of the Innovatek system. It's an awesome waterblock consisting of a copper core surrounded by an aluminium jacket. The combination really pays off with low temps and simple design. It’s a simple aluminium block that when turned over reveals the most highly polished copper base I have yet to see on any heat sink. The waterblock arrives with a white protective coating to ensure that the polished base does not get scratched. The next best thing that Innovatek did was the creation of a cpu bracket that is near perfect. It mounts atop the CPU in only one direction. The bracket uses all three tabs on either side of the socket to ensure a good grip that will not come loose. Tightening the bracket is done by way of a thumb screw on top of the bracket. This means no more crushing the core when putting a clip in place, and no more worrying about centring the pressure over the core. The tightening of the bracket is even and centered over the core.
Tubing: There is 10 feet of clear PVC tubing included. The tubing is 3/8” outer diameter and grips the provided fittings perfectly. The tubing bends a little easily resulting in kinks in the tubing. This meant I had to measure my lengths exactly and in some cases trim a bit more to avoid kinks developing. For a kit that provided such high quality on all other items, to provide such cheap tubing was somewhat confusing. I would suggest going to the local hardware store and buying yourself 5 or six feet of same size silicon tubing and not using this stuff. The good news is that such tubing is cheap and can be found easily.
