CPU coolers with “heat pipes” are starting to become fairly popular; there are now quite a few models from various manufacturers featuring the technology. Taisol has responded with their own heat pipe cooler for the Pentium 4 (there is also a socket A variant). While the concept of integrating heat pipes into a heat sink is not new, Taisol’s design is unlike any I have ever seen. They certainly earn an A+ for defying convention.
A big thank you to Xoxide for supplying the cooler. (Check out Sunday night’s X-hour sales!) You can tell immediately that this is no ordinary heat sink. Here are the basic specs.
