More cooler...

Since the MCX-478V works with the stock retention bracket, not nearly as much mounting hardware is needed. In the box are the metal arms that attack the sink to the socket, 92mm fan mounts (80mm mounts come preinstalled) plastic pushpins for easy, screwless installation of the fan, and a small pouch of Artic Alumina. You’ll want to pick up some Artic Silver 5 though, the difference is worth the $5.

Thanks to the new design, installation of the heatsink is really easy. Even if you are a first timer, a quick glance at the instructions should have you up and running in no time. (Instructions are good, Thermalright!)

The central heat spreader design makes a return once more. The heat spreader allows them to concentrate only on the part of the base that actually makes contact with the CPU, polishing it to a perfect, mirror shine that I’ve come to expect from Swiftech.
